CORTLAND, New York (September 6, 2023) – Greek Peak Mountain Resort, nestled in the picturesque Finger Lakes region of New York, is celebrating a remarkable milestone – its 65th Anniversary season. Since 1958, this iconic resort has captivated the hearts of winter sports enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike, offering an unforgettable blend of exhilarating activities, breathtaking natural beauty, and warm hospitality. As its tagline suggests, Greek Peak is truly “A Mountain of Memories”, and some of your finest experiences await at Greek Peak @ 65.
This season promises to be a grand celebration, with many exciting events and offerings. From thrilling ski and snowboarding runs to cozy lodge stays and fine dining, the resort offers an array of experiences that cater to individuals and families alike, and it will all kick off with the annual Hops & Swaps Brewfest weekend, scheduled for October 6-8.
The Fall events keep coming at a “frightening” pace, as Greek Peak’s popular “Freak at the Peak” will take centerstage after Hops & Swaps, featuring the Haunted Coaster and Zombie Zipline experiences.
One of the highlights of this anniversary season is the expansion and enhancement of the resort’s snow-making capabilities. Currently in year 3 of a 5-year plan for snow-making infrastructure and improvements, Greek Peak will invest another $1 million into the mountain this year, which comes on top of a $1.3 million investment last season. Greek Peak has always been committed to providing the best possible experience for its guests, and this season is no exception. New trail lighting, improved snowmaking capabilities, and state-of-the-art equipment ensure that visitors can enjoy the slopes and terrain parks to the fullest.
Under the ownership of John and Christine Meier since 2013, the resort has made many improvements and added new amenities including The Lookout at Hope Lake, a 4,500 square foot, stand-alone indoor/outdoor event space overlooking a beautiful lake and mountains. Carvers Steakhouse delivers an exquisite dining experience at Hope Lake Lodge, a luxurious hotel with 151 luxury condominium-style suites. Each suite is complete with fully equipped kitchens, the relaxing comfort of spa quality mattresses, and the warmth of your very own fireplace. The lodge also features a splashingly good time at Cascades, a 41,000 square foot indoor waterpark, and Waterfalls Spa, a luxurious day spa with world-class accommodations and services in a nurturing setting of tranquility. More traditional pub fare options are available ski side at Trax Pub and Grill restaurant with an expansive 6,000 square foot deck. And in its first full season, Greek Peak’s Campground at Hope Lake, featuring 26 RV sites and 15 smaller, camper/tent sites with sewer, water, and electric, has easy access to the Adventure Center’s mountain coaster, ziplines, and aerial ropes course, as well as other resort amenities.
The 65th Anniversary season is not only a time of celebration but also an opportunity to reflect on the rich history and enduring legacy of Greek Peak Mountain Resort. It’s a reminder of the countless memories created on its slopes, the friendships forged at the lodge, and the generations that have come to experience its magic. It is also a testament to its enduring commitment to providing exceptional winter sports experiences and year-round entertainment. With its continued dedication to innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, the resort stands poised to welcome guests for many more years of adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.
