SNOW GROOMER – OVERNIGHT (SEASONAL)

Salary:                   $22.00 hourly

SUMMARY:  Greek Peak Mountain Resort is hiring overnight snow groomers for the 23-24 winter ski season. This is a seasonal position. This position requires overnight availability. Must be at least 18 years old and have weekend availability. Employees who work a minimum of 2 shifts per week are eligible for a $15 employee season pass with complimentary rentals.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned.)
 

1. Operate snow grooming machines, such as snowcats and snow groomers, to groom and maintain ski slopes, terrain parks, and other snow-covered areas.
2. Utilize grooming equipment to manipulate snow surfaces, including smoothing, packing, and reshaping snow, to ensure optimal skiing and snowboarding conditions.
3. Conduct pre-operational equipment checks to ensure that all equipment is in safe and proper working order.
4. Monitor and adjust grooming equipment to maintain safe skiing conditions and to meet the company’s quality standards.
5. Ensure that ski trails, terrain parks, and snow surfaces are well-maintained, free from hazards, and properly marked.
6. Repair and maintain snow grooming equipment as necessary to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
7. Assist in the construction and maintenance of terrain park features such as jumps, rails, and boxes.
8. Follow safety guidelines while shaping and maintaining terrain park elements.
9. Collaborate with fellow snow groomers, slope maintenance teams, and resort management to coordinate grooming schedules and priorities.
10. Communicate any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or terrain conditions to the appropriate personnel.
11. Comply with environmental regulations and company policies for snow grooming operations, including fuel usage and waste disposal.
12. Follows established safety procedures.

 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Must have overnight and weekend availability.
3. Proven experience operating snow grooming equipment preferred.
4. Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
5. Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills.
6. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
7. Ability to work in all elements of weather.
8. Ability to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms.
